Obama Did NOT Ban The Pledge of Allegiance -Geoff & Jeffrey #17

Greetings! Welcome to the Holbrook New Media Audio Feed. We do audio, video, content creation, and that other stuff. holbrooknewmedia.com.

Today on Episode 17 of The Geoff & Jeffrey show, here are some of the things we are talking about:

Our live recording time is not very conducive to people being awake while it is going on. 6:00am Eastern time and 8:00 Australian time.

Ms Ileane Smith left a comment on Geoff's YouTube Channel where the video version of the show is posted. https://www.youtube.com/user/glider1b

A correction from Episode 16: President Obama did NOT ban the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag.

Jeffrey's image on this episode is very jittery, but the audio sounds great once we used Jeffrey's local recording.

A comparison of the video applications Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro.

An update on two of the podcasts that Jeffrey has been helping to get started.

You are better to go ahead and get started with the risk of doing it wrong instead of not moving at all and accomplishing nothing.

Discussing our sound treatment and mic arrangements with our new setup.

Trying to hangup and reconnect on Skype didn't help with the jerky video on Jeffrey's end.

The "Indian Telemarketers" tried to call again.

Jeffrey has had so many inquiries about podcasting that he made a resource page on his website. You can access it at PodcastCurious.com.

Geoff found that it was cheaper to buy an Australian microphone in California and take it home than to buy it locally in Australia.

Australia is the largest producer of natural gas. They sell it to Japan, but the Japanese prices are 25% cheaper than it is in Australia where it is actually produced.

Companies fight the reduction of product demand instead of preparing for what is next in the industry.

Getting along with people with opposite points of view. Just being able to discuss things in an unemotional manner.

Geoff has the impression that Americans are rarely living where they were raised, it seems its about constantly moving to where the best job is.

Jeffrey just had his 30th anniversary working for the U.S. Postal Service.

Always be nice to your children since they will be picking your nursing home.

When you get older you schedule fun activities around the doctor's appointments.

Girls were not interested in computers or online until the tech was taken out of the way and you could easily get on and chat.

Tech is moving so quickly. More all the time.

Modern uses for out of date computers. Early computers we remember:

From Blab To Skype With A Dash of Wirecast -Geoff & Jeffrey #16

Greetings! Welcome to the Holbrook New Media Audio Feed. We do audio, video, content creation, and that other stuff. holbrooknewmedia.com.

Today on Episode 16 of The Geoff & Jeffrey show, here are some of the things we are talking about:

Blab.im has died a quiet death, leaving us orphans, but Geoff, being the fancy video expert, has set us up using Wirecast and Skype. This gives new versatility, improves both the audio and video and streams live on YouTube at the same time!
Blab was primarily expected to be used as a video version of Facebook, but many people started doing shows and only being on once a week. So, it looks like we killed it.

The new version of Wirecast is pretty expensive, but has NDI, (Network Device Interface), which allows you to bring any computer on your network into play.
Jeffrey has found that it is possible to record a Skype call with his Audio Technica AT2005usb and Zoom H5 recorder. Usually, it requires a larger mixer that has enough Auxillary Sends, or special software that takes up system resources from Skype.

On Tech Down Over, the guest was Anthony Artis a writer and educator about videography.

Books by Anthony Artis:

Jeffrey is thrilled with the launch of a friend's podcast that he helped with. It has amazing sound, and great content. Check it out:

Geoff played a short demo for the show that is going to be played on episode 80 of The Feed, the Official Libsyn Podcast. Libsyn is the podcast hosting company that Jeffrey uses for the podcast version of Geoff & Jeffrey: The Weekly Catch Up.

A discussion of how a show such as ours and Tech Down Over can sometimes have a hard time deciding who's turn it is to talk.

YouTube is inconsistent in enforcing the copyright laws sometimes.

Major News services reported that President Obama had banned the American Pledge of Allegience. We discuss this, thinking it is real, but found out later it was a hoax.

Geoff mispelled Holbrook on Jeffrey's lower third. hehehe! Mispellings of our names in general.

Advances in tech, like in the Vincent Price movie, "The Abominable Dr Phibes". He was so deformed, he had developed a way to plug in on the back of his neck to communicate.

How cities in the U.S. are closely crowded compared to Australia.

"My Shadow" By Robert Lewis Stevenson -HNM005

This is Jeffrey K. Holbrook.

Welcome to the the audio feed from holbrooknewmedia.com.

I recently started working on a few projects with with J.D. Sutter over at Porchlight Family Media. They have a show called Verses in Vox. They are taking classic works of poetry, and have them performed by a voice actor, then original music is composed, and original photography and artwork is made.

When all is produced and made ready by the 5 or 6 people involved, it is released. You really need to go to verses.porchlightfamilymedia.com to listen to the various amazing productions.

Before getting involved with these projects, I hadn't really gotten much into classic poetry, but I have really been finding a new dimension to these treasures.
Today, with permission, I am presenting "My Shadow" by Robert Lewis Stevenson, in its entirety.
